Like any software, PPC Software comes in a range of different styles and offerings. There are numerous tools out there that assist in helping you with your PPC campaign. Some do keyword research, some do search results monitoring and some do the whole thing, such as the application from Market Defender.
But what are the tools you REALLY need to get started? Well, for me, the most important tool is the keyword research tool. This should be used in all PPC or SEO projects. This tool will enable you to find keywords that people enter in the search engines when searching for your product, service, or niche. By having this data, you can optimise your website (if for SEO) or your pay per click ads effectively. You can also bid on keywords that you know will generate traffic as most keyword research applications providing you with the daily traffic figures for each phrase. This is a big help as spending money on keywords that get little to no traffic is a common mistake for newbie affiliate marketers.
The next tool you should have in your arsenal is a some kind of competition manager. You need to be able to see what your competition is bidding on (keywords) and how much they’re paying in order to price your click prices effectively.
